| Founded by a group of community-minded artists and residents of Monterey County, Artistas Unidos - Artists United is a public benefit nonprofit organization based in Salinas, California, home of Nobel Prize winning author John Steinbeck. The formation of Artistas Unidos - Artists United was inspired by the need for local artists, youth and residents to connect in creative ways, to be part of new culturally diverse educational opportunities, and to promote these communal portals to visitors and residents alike. The brainchild of Patricia Triumpho Sullivan, this concept evolved from her work as the organizer and curator of Bailando con la Muerte, an annual Day of the Dead celebration in Salinas. |
